Internet Explorer on Windows 10


This is related to Internet Explorer 11, Windows 10 version 1709. Problem: cannot open the Internet Explorer.
Any idea to make the IE working?

Open Control Panel > programs and features > Turn Windows features on or off> Uncheck Internet Explorer 11, then click OK.
Select Yes on the warning about Internet Explorer.
Restart your PC.

Do the same and this time Place a check mark for Internet Explorer 11, then click OK.
Select Yes if you got warning.
Restart your PC.

if you can open IE now try to disable all add-ins and reset internet Explorer and check if it helps.

You can also create a new USER account as administrator,  switch into it and test  Internet explorer.

if none of the above suggestions didn't help then try Windows 10 Repair Install with an In-place Upgrade.

Go to the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from this link:
Click on Download Tool Now, save it on desktop,  then run it as Administrator, accept license agreement, then Choose Upgrade This PC Now, let Windows to Update drivers. make sure that Keep Personal Files and Apps  is Selected  and let the Windows do the rest.

Note: The Procedure takes at least one hour.

Others will refute this, but I have been seeing and saying for  quite a while that I "believe" that MS is crippling IE in Windows 10.  I have done quite a few brand new clean installs on various hardware only to have IE not work right off the bat.

I suspect they are trying to get people to use Edge.  

I have used IE since the beginning....I've given up on IE and Edge and use Chrome as my browser of choice.

IE 11 works just fine on Windows 10 V1709.

@tjie - Try the first suggestion above (remove / re-add the feature). If that works, that is all you need to do.

Not sure what you mean by cannot open, but I'm viewing this question on IE and 1709

1. Run in CMD:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
sfc /scannow

2. Another suggestion:
Press Windows + R to open Run.
Type iexplore -extoff to open Internet Explorer in safe mode.
Hit Enter to open Internet Explorer.
If the Internet Explorer successfully launched, reset the Internet Explorer settings.
OR just open Run command, type inetcpl.cpl and press enter to open IE properties window. Click on ‘Advanced’ tab, click on ‘Reset’ button at the bottom to Reset Internet Explorer Settings.

3. Also locate iexplorer.exe and run it directly from C:\... not via shortcut

4. Check if IE is enabled in Windows Features. If not -> enable it.
If yes -> uncheck Internet Explorer 11 in Windows Features, and click on OK.
Afterwards, restart the computer if prompted.
Next, check Internet Explorer 11 in Windows Features, and click on OK.
This will essentially be the same as uninstalling and reinstalling IE11.
