Edge flashes after opening and typing in the address is impossible.

Hello Experts,

Edge just flashes after opening and typing in the address bar is slow to impossible.  I'm not sure how long this has been going on as I tend to use Firefox.  I do believe the Edge issue may be related to other issues such as right clicking a system tray icon not producing a fly out menu.  Those issues started about a month ago.

Any help would be appreciated.  I'm sick and at home so I will respond quickly.

Thanks so much,

John

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Edge is working fine on all my own / client Windows 10 machines.

Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator and run dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Allow to complete, restart and test.

If that does not work you may need to run a non-destructive Windows 10 repair from the Media Creation Link (Keep Everything)

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Windows 10 is running, so click on the Download button (not Upgrade Button, select Open (Run) but NOT Save. Allow the program to run. Allow drivers to update. Then select Keep Everything.

Thanks for trying John Hurst.  Your solution was helpful but didn't solve this specific problem.  I eventually gave up and reinstalled the operating system.  Things are working fine.  I appreciated the help.
