Cisco support/licenses question

How does Cisco licenses and support work?  I want to buy a 3850 PoE switch here in US (Amazon?), configure it here, and ship it over to Canada.
Does it affect support or licenses at all because it will be in diff country?

Also can someone explain the quote for me?  Besides the hardware price I have these:
- CISCO Cisco One Foundation Perpetual - Catalyst 3850 48-port
- CISCO SNTC-24X7X4 C1 Cat 3850 48 Port Full PoE
- CISCO SWSS UPGRADES C1 Foundation Perp Cat3850 48Prt

These three things are doubling the price of the hardware.  Which one of these SmartNet and what's the other stuff?  Do I need it?

Sorry too many questions.  VAR being vague on that.  Thanks in advance!

2 Solutions
among your 3 points ... the only one you really need (from a maintenance purpose), is CISCO SNTC-24X7X4 C1 Cat 3850 48 Port Full PoE
which means you will have HW replacement with a 24x7 coverage.

Should you want something less expensive you may want to have a quote for
which means
8 hours (8.30-17.30) - 5 days (from Monday to Friday) - Next Business Day (you will have the damaged hardware replaced the next business day you open a TAC with Cisco.

hope this helps

Thanks Max.  So, CISCO SNTC-24X7X4 C1  would be a SmartNet support?

You really need to contact cisco direct and confirm that:

1.  your support is transferable across the border
2. what the import restrictions are going to be regarding the equipment into Canada

I work for an organization where this is a common hurdle.  Depending on the "subsidiary" we are purchasing for, we run into different answers for both the above questions.  In fact, I would recommend a VAR - we use Presidio personally.

As to the licensing -

- CISCO Cisco One Foundation Perpetual - Catalyst 3850 48-port  - Cisco's new shtic for support.  Based around lower upfront costing (think payment plans) with some degree of portability included depending on equipment, etc.

- CISCO SNTC-24X7X4 C1 Cat 3850 48 Port Full PoE - Normal SmartNet for the equipment noted.  Includes TAC, hardware support/replacement and software/licensing support.  Some technology configuration/implementation support provided.

- CISCO SWSS UPGRADES C1 Foundation Perp Cat3850 48Prt - Migration contract from SmartNet or base hardware support to Cisco One

Thanks Atlas.  I'll confirm that with Cisco.
As for the licensing.  Looks like I only need the 2nd option right?  Can I remove the other two?
atlas_shudderedSr. Network EngineerCommented:
Yes.  If you want to go traditional smart net then option 2.  If you want to go to the new Cisco One then option 1.  Option 3 is of no consequence to consideration.
