New TLD emails flooding mailboxes

Hi

Had an increase of spam coming from .date domains, is there a way to stop this via the junk folder settings. Im set it to block "*.@*.date" in the Junk Settings but that doesnt appear to work. Any ideas how I can block this stuff in Outlook or Office 365 EAC?

You can block the TLD in question via the Spam Filter options (EAC -> Protection -> Spam filter) or via Transport rules. For both options, you can restrict this to apply to certain users only, or across all mailboxes in your tenant.

so just add .date into block domains in EAC Spam Filter?

Depends on the spam filter, but I usually put in the equivalent of *.date and that works in most filters to block any email address purporting to be ending in a TLD of .date

Yes, adding .date to the list of blocked domains in the EAC Spam filter options should do it. Domains are easy to spoof though, so dont expect such options to block all spam.

As a side note, I'm seeing this too and I'm having to block more and more "less reputable" TLDs at the Postfix HELO level.  At present:
