How to factory reset my Defender DVR model 21065

I have a Defender 4 camera system. When we moved, I lost my password. I have contacted Defender and that was a dead end. I need to do a factory reset or find a way to reset the password. It is a Defender 4 camera system. DVR model: 21065  SN: 16 07 01227
Please help. We do supervised child visits and we can not schedule any due to this issue.

Have you tried the default accounts? Try either..
admin / password
admin / 123456

Since you're mentioning that the manufacturer can't help you, then we really wouldn't be able to either. As David cited, it would probably be less expensive for you at the end of the day to simply replace the DVR, Think of the lost revenue over the lost password versus the cost of replacing and setting up the DVR.

Better quality DVRs are configured so that doing a full reset will not clear a password.  This is deliberate so that if a device is stolen it will be useless to the thief.

It is unfortunate that the manufacturer won't support their device.  As stated above you'll need to buy a replacement -- but next time buy Q-See instead.  Q-See will assist with a password reset if you are a registered user and can prove that you own the unit.

Download the app. Go to login with your email and select forgot password.  Accept the option of resetting the password.
