Manage esxi without VCenter?

Hi,

I d like to run an esxi on low hardware, just for 1 or 2 vm s (HP Microserver). Is there a wat to configure the vms without the need of VCenter?  Or I might run Hyper-V but not sure if XPENology runs on it and there is a management interface like VCenter(?) for Hyperv?

You can still access the mangement web page through the IP address of the host. The information you need should be up on the host screen once it has booted up.

So you can manage an esxi host via a webinterface? Thought you needed to install client for that?
No need for vCenter Server! Only FULL Web Management is available with 6.5 unless you install Web Host Client on earlier platforms!

Just connect direct to the IP Address of the ESXi Host! (and if using 6.5 you can now use a Web Browser!)

Please see my EE Articles

Part 1:  HOW TO: Install and Configure VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.5 (ESXi 6.5)

Part 2: HOW TO: Connect to the VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.5 (ESXi 6.5) using the vSphere (HTML5 Web) Host Client 6.5
Yep, what Andrew said.
Great!  Worked with esxi 4 before and there it was not possible.
So I have some questions left then:
*esxi: so no client will be needed BUT a browser as from now?
*the free esxi 6.5, has it limitations (home use only) in time or functionality?
*can I update esxi via web
*I d like to boot esxi from usb, any recommendation on usb model or type for esxi?
*running synology on esxi, can I  address (existing) physical disks?  I d then migrate my Synology physical to Xpenology ...
*how does hyper v compare to esxi?  are they equal or is esxi still superior?

I really don't care about points that much, but I did answer first. Andy responded to the supplemental questions.
