WSUS status report generation error

I am running WSUS version 3.2.7600.226 on a Windows 2003 SP2 server. Recently, I have been getting an error everytime I try to generate a status report for any computer. The error is "an error occurred while generating the report. Try running the report again or contact your network admin for help" Also, Windows 10 machines are having a hard time getting updates from the same server. This server is pretty old and it only has 1GB RAM, running Pentium 4 2,6GHz processor. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tharaka

you won't get windows 10 updates from a 2003 WSUS instance; just isn't supported (neither is 2003)
install WSUS on something at least 2012 and those clients will get updates (and also your reporting issue would be resolved)

will it work if I install WSUS on a Windows 2008 server instead?

still suggest something newer
windows 2008 / 2008 R2 is end of life january 2020
and be forewarned that windows 10 clients will appear as running windows vista because 2008 isn't aware of the labeling of newer builds of windows
