equallogic ps6500 max drives

I am interested in knowing what the max drive capacity for an EQ PS6500 are.  I am seeting that http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pvaul/en/equallogic_ps6500e_specsheet.pdf states max 1TB but wondering if anyone has ever exceeded this and what drives you used and or what performance or other problems you had are.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There are 2Tb drives for PS6500, part no 9JW168-536

http://www.equallogic-storage.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Dell_EqualLogic_PS6510_and_PS6500_Spec_Sheet.pdf also says there are 3TB ones but I don't have part no for them.

Note you will have to update the firmware before it'll accept drives newer than your current f/w version.

Thanks for the replay. Are you saying the equal logic firmware needs updated?  This unit is not under a contract so I would not be able to download the firmware for it.

Equallogic are pretty fussy about drives, they have a table in the controller firmware that lists what they work with and new drives won't be in that list. Dell support are pretty good, if you buy one drive from them they'll probably give you controller firmware that supports it.

I have added Hitachi 3TB drives HUA722020ALA330 and it seems it wants to only detect them as 700GB. I ma running firmware v9.0.3
