Google Backup and Sync

Apparently the application "Google Drive" has been replaced by "Google Backup and Sync" as the desktop application.  When I am copying files to the desktop from an external hard drive it is trying to sync these files to the cloud.  I DO NOT want this to happen.  I only want to backup files to the cloud that are located in the Google Drive folder (shortcut on the desktop).

How do I set this up?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

See below, go into the Settings on the Backup and Sync application, and turn off the syncing to the cloud of other folders (as in first screen below).  Make sure you still are syncing to your Google drive (second screen).
