what model and brand harware can I buy to copy from dvr to dvd?

I used to use my Lite On model no. 9016G to copy from my dvr to blank dvd's for personal use only.  My lite on unit is now not working as replacement parts are not available to fix the unit.

What current model and brand unit can I buy to be able to continue to copy from my dvr to blank dvd's?

Thanks,  Steve A.

If you were satisfied with the LiteOn, then you might have a look at this company.  They claim that they can repair your unit, install a newer and faster DVD drive, and upgrade the firmware.  It is not what I would call cheap, though.

Or you could just buy a working used unit off fleabay.

Odds are it's a standard interface.  If so, you could probably use just about any drive.  However, if you can't, then look at the model on the LiteOn drive and google the model.  Ebay is probably the best place to find the exact same one.

DVD burners are cheap these days.  Just buy any replacement or 2 and it should work fine.

If you want larger capacity, you can even get a blueray burner.
