Phone I bought was reported lost or stolen

I bought a phone off kijjjiji and it turns out when I went to hook it up that it had been reported lost or stolen but yet there was no information about how to return it to owner so how can I still use this phone

How did you know it was reported loss or stolen?

You can dial *#06# to display the imei of the phone and you can use the imei information to contact its owner from some online database for lost or stolen phones.

I tried that and couldn't get any info and I paid 120 bucks for the phone...is it useless now? Is there not away to hook it up
If you cannot get imei information, the phone is useless as it should have a hardware problem.
Which phone company did you try to connect the phone with and who exactly told you that the phone had been reported as stolen? The person you spoke to must be identifying the imei information from that phone to be able to say that it's stolen.
Mobile phone manufacturers or operators should be able to contact the owner of the mobile phone. I hope my answer can help you!  Thank you
