Integrating Video Editor & Stock Photos Into Website

Hi everyone, I wondered if someone could help me please, I am looking to start a new online business selling videos to local business owners but mainly selling videos that my customers can create / customise / edit and buy online kind of on autopilot.

I would like to create videos in formats for Facebook headers, instagram, everyday marketing videos, the kind where customers can upload their own images and videos to my templates if that makes sense, perhaps integrate stock photo and video options.

I was wanting to offer options for usual videos as well as facebook headers and instagram, providing templates and customers either upload their own images or video clips or could perhaps add direct from pixabay etc.

I note that there is various open source software available but I need to integrate and set it up inside my website.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

When looking at open source or any software, make sure you have a commercial license. Remember, open source does not always mean free.

You have two main parts here.  1) Create, edit videos and 2) Post videos to various social media.

it's hard to tell what you are actually asking.  Are you looking for ready made solutions that can handle each part? or are you looking to code something on your own?  If that is the case, what language and what is your experience  level?

For the second part, you will want to look at the api's for each.  Facebook (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/video-uploads , https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/v2.11/user/feed, https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/video), Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/developer/endpoints/comments/)

For the first part, you don't want to try and reinvent this wheel.  Stick with a 3rd party application no matter what the price. I bring this section up last because one of the options may be social integration as part of the package. See https://www.magisto.com/pricing?prev_path=/video-marketing&via=top_menu where the top end allows you to use your own branding. There is also an api https://developers.magisto.com/docs/index.html.

Actually, there are three parts where the third is integrating with your own site and keeping track of prospects, clients, billing, support etc.

To attack this project, take each step at a time and you will find there will be multiple sub steps. You will also want to define if you want to develop all of this on your own, use all third party services and resell or some mixture of those options.

Thank you for your comment that is very helpful, I have been searching online and starting to see what API's are available. I am looking 100% for  a full integration solution as I am not a coder and looking for someone to integrate and set this up for me. I generally use wordpress but not sure what the best CMS system is to integrate video editing API's along with ecommerce buying options so open to all options. I am also looking to do this on a tight budget as I have a good marketing strategy ready but don't have a major set up budget. I will email magisto to see what options they provide. Thank you for your help.

Wordpress is a good choice for your site as far as managing content for your site. I do find it cumbersome to integrate custom programs but it can be done.  If you are not going to be generating a lot of articles or blog posts, I wouldn't worry about which CMS at this point if you are going to hire somebody and let them help make that decision.

However, if you are on a tight budget for creating this, you may want to have things separated.  Make your simple site using Wordpress, wix, weebley, or squarespace.  Then resell or get affiliate commission using a 3rd party app like magisto or something else. You will not make as much money, but you will also not have as much risk either.  The tighter your integration to making it look like an all in one app on your end, the higher your risk and initial investment will be. You could spend $5K to $25K or more. Plus you will have to build in something for support.

The initial investment may sound higher than you thought, but if your marketing plan is good, 500 customers paying $10 to $30 per month will pay that back inside of 5 months.
