Prevent overcharging (in the backgroud)

SM-G920P
samsung galaxy s6
android 7

I had an app (I forget the name) that had too much clicking. All the time telling me I have this app. I think I had to interact with the app every time I touched the phone.

I would like an app that works in the background to prevent battery overcharging.

When the battery is fully charged, the circuit board of your smartphone will stop the charging current going into your battery and there will be no overcharge.

So this phone can not have an enlarged battery?
Or charging does not lower disconnected (from outlet) battery life
