Sorry for the way of asking this question.

What I need is in the screenshot to explain it better

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

One of the easier ways to do this without a ton of PS knowledge is with creating multiple layers. Set your base layer to your primary color, then tailor your layers above it to span the different colors you want. This is good for hard color transitions like you linked.

However, if you want to create a transitional layer all on the same one, you will have to create a custom color in the layer. You can adjust the type of transition by double clikcing the layer, then using the styles on the left to change a gradient. I have a few pics linked below.

Capture one: The double click of the layer
Capture two: In here you can choose the gradient. If you see the sliders at the bottom is where you can add the effects of it middle ways, high, low etc.

The gradient definitely a tool that can be used but for the effect in your attachments, drag location boxes together (see below)
