universal laptop charger

laptop windows 10
asus
I want to have an extra charger.
I have other laptops also and I would like for charger to work with other laptops. It is very important that it works with this laptop. Not that important that it works with all laptops.

What type of universal travel charger should I get.
Voltage/watage

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Just search for it. There are many of them on the Internet and they are really UNIVERSAL. Search the charger that contains the plug for your laptop.

Like this one: Input: 100V-240V 50-60Hz, Output: DC 18.5V 19V 19.5V 20V Max 65W. Compatible with 65W 45W 36W 40W etc. less than 65W laptop charging.
Example.

You'll need to determine the amount of wattage you need to support.  For example the one linked to by Hello There has a 65 watt maximum.  That's fairly low.  You can find 90 watts and 120 watt chargers.  Doesn't hurt to go bigger.

Look at the voltage range the charger supports and whether that suits the laptops you want to support.  Next look at the plug selection.  Most plugs are like the ones in the link that Hello There supplied and there are universal kits for those types that can expand the range you want to support.  That's what I've done with my universal charger.

As for which one do a search as Hello There suggests and look at the Amazon reviews and prices to make your mind up.

You are right but I provided an example. The first link I found.

When choosing the charger you should consider Voltage/Wattage that are suitable for all your laptops together.

You can get the charger with a pack of dozens of plugs.

on this page, they say it uses an 120 W version :  https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-GL752VW/specifications/
that does NOT mean it would not work with a 90 W version, but i would not go lower, otherwise- even if it works- it would take very long to run + charge the battery.
in general - the higher the wattage, the higher the weight - if that is important to you

I would get the adapter specific to this laptop. I got a 45-watt adapter for my own laptop and it is very tiny. Saves weight and space in the travel bag. These are much better than universal adapters.
