any language that you are comfortably with is good for this purpose, as long as you can send commands to the printer port. I believe oki uses ESC/P set of control commands, but if not their user manual should include anything you need, it is really easy to do it.

Preferably in python. Any recommendations on how to go about this? What is the best language etc...<br />
I think I would prefer a Linux environment but I am open to c# .net windows as well.
