Outlook 365 Can't create profile.

Using outlook 2016, my client was continually prompted for their password . I found a solution online and followed the steps. Afterwards, outlook hung on loading profile. I deleted the profile and tried to create a new one, but an error message is displayed and I cannot create a new profile now. I tried reinstalling office , but that did not work.  This has been going on for about a month and the client is getting pretty annoyed with the outlook web app. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Given what you have tried (decent steps), now make a new, test, Windows User Profile (Account). Log into the new Windows Account, set up Outlook and test.

Go to the Mail app in the Control Panel, attempt to create a new profile, when it fails, hit OK to create the profile anyway (even though it is incomplete), set it as the default, then launch Outlook. It should start the first-time account setup ... see if that works.

I created a new profile , then went back to the problem profile and the email set up worked fine. thank you.

Creating a new profile  under a new user worked for the old users problem profile.
