My gridview loses paging template.

What are some possible reasons that a grid would lose its paging header? I know that's a very broad question. The details that I can give are that the pager template is there when the page loads, but upon a new data bind that is successful the pager template is gone. It does re-appear if I do a sort on any of the columns but that's not how it is supposed to work. Its as if it loses its understanding that it needs to show the pager template after a new datasource has been bound to it? I'm looking for some suggestions of things / properties that I can check to see what would cause this?

most likely it's because your data only filled within one page, and there's no need to have pagination. ASP.NET engine auto-turn it off then.

check and make sure AllowPaging property set to True and check the value of PageSize property.

Ryan

My AllowPaging is set to True and I have my PageSize property set to 10 and...(I just tested it and it seems to be magically working now). I say magically, because, I'd set those properties yesterday, before I started this question and I was still having the problem, before your response. I'll update this question in a while. I need to do some more testing.

sorry to come back on this question so lately.

do you still need assistance here? if yes, can you try post relevant codes for verification?

Thank you but I no longer need assistance with this. it was solved due to the data set not being updated properly due to some serialization/de-serialization processes not being done when they needed to be.

The problem was solved by a co-worker. Thanks for your time, for those who contributed.
