Friend uploads home videos to Facebook. He tried three different series of actions to accomplish the upload and failed.
One is going through the news feed. His videos are over 18MB so he can not send me one to test.
What are the various ways to upload a video?
Not interested in dropbox to get his videos or any other method to get his videos.
The videos are uploaded one at a time and they are 3-4 minutes long and about 45MB each.
He is comfortable with the 45 minutes to an hour it takes for upload.
He says his attempts have not gotten him to the point where the video is shown in the video window.
Here is what I get when I upload a video to my FB page. He says he is not getting this far.

Is he getting any error messages when the video finishes uploading? In the normal flow, as you saw, you will land on the above window once the video is uploaded.
Has he tried uploading the video on different networks. His network connection could affect this.

...........He does not get that far. Look at my image. My video is uploaded to FB.
He is not getting far enough to see what you see in that image.
He has uploaded over a dozen videos using the same method(s) that "he" has always used and now he says the upload fails. Nothing has changed on his end as far as ISP speed, video source, etc.
We'll try some of the above ideas later today.

His camera creates mpeg2 videos. He converts those to mp4. He tried to upload mp4's to FB and got failures, video not found, etc.
He tried mpeg2 versions of the same videos and they uploaded to FB fine.
