All the tips Ryan gave you on uploads are going to be useful for you.

Since the video is so large it could be the size of the videos that is hindering the upload or slowing it down. Your friend may want to try uploading the videos one at a time or cutting them down into a few shorter videos. Here are Facebook's video design recommendations:

Aside from uploading the home videos to YouTube, your friend could upload the videos to Vimeo and then share them on Facebook. Here are vimeos plans, they have a free one:

The videos are uploaded one at a time and they are 3-4 minutes long and about 45MB each.
He is comfortable with the 45 minutes to an hour it takes for upload.

He says his attempts have not gotten him to the point where the video is shown in the video window.

Here is what I get when I upload a video to my FB page. He says he is not getting this far.

Is he getting any error messages when the video finishes uploading? In the normal flow, as you saw, you will land on the above window once the video is uploaded.
Has he tried uploading the video on different networks. His network connection could affect this.

Is he getting any error messages when the video finishes uploading?

...........He does not get that far. Look at my image. My video is uploaded to FB.
He is not getting far enough to see what you see in that image.
Allie WattsDemand Generation & Digital Marketing SpecialistCommented:
Okay, thank you for clarifying.
If he is not getting that far, it might be a network issue or the device he is using to upload it as Ryan said.

I would suggest he:
  • try uploading the video on a new network
  • try uploading the video from a different device
  • try uploading the video to YouTube or Vimeo and sharing on Facebook

When his video fails to upload does he get any error messages? Does he see anything on his screen to indicate the upload didnt take place?
In the past when Facebook has failed to upload my videos, it provided an error message of some sort to let me know why it would not upload or what problems were encountered.

Good luck to your friend!

He has uploaded over a dozen videos using the same method(s) that "he" has always used and now he says the upload fails. Nothing has changed on his end as far as ISP speed, video source, etc.

We'll try some of the above ideas later today.

His camera creates mpeg2 videos. He converts those to mp4. He tried to upload mp4's to FB and got failures, video not found, etc.
He tried mpeg2 versions of the same videos and they uploaded to FB fine.
