Seagate Crystal Report 8 - Report saving/export issue

I have seagate crystal report 8 in the system. It was already in used by another employee who is now retired. I am unable to understand one thing that a query is already made and when I run it then it shows total figures (summarized figures in a table format), which is set on different parameters but when I try to save it then it takes lots of time plus does not save the summarized position as it is visible on screen instead it saves total records as well as total figures in the bottoms (which is not desired). I just want to have summarized position in the table format when I save it in excel format. Is there any setting or any other options in which I can make changes, so I can have my desired data only in a shortest time and not the whole database information?

How are you saving?
Are you simply running the report then using the SAVE icon or File --> SAVE

Are you trying to export the report to Excel?
In CR 8 the only way to export to Excel is what you get.  It will rerun the report so make sure you have refreshed the data.
