You need a Volume License OR Office 365 Pro Plus OR Office 365 E3 or better.  The best way depends on you but only those editions are licensed for use in RDS.

If possible do not install Office on any server.

Jose, be sure you understand the license requirements for running Office on an RDS server as Lee mentioned. Unlike previous Office versions, given the cloud nature of Office 365, it may be more cost effective to license per user.

Hello,

Thx for the awnsers. I donĀ“t how officce 365 E3 works in an RDS enviorement. In some other installations i just purchase the CALs and the RDS license for every user.

I must install Office 2016 on the server and then install the licenses on every user who has office 365 E3?. As i know this will license clients but not server itself. Is that correct?

Anyone knows the best way to install office 365 E3?

Thx a lot

The E3 version of OFfice 365 is ProPlus so the instructions in these links should guide you:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployOffice/deploy-office-365-proplus-by-using-remote-desktop-services?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployOffice/overview-of-shared-computer-activation-for-office-365-proplus?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

In short, you're looking to enable Shared Computer Activation but there are several ways to do this depending on how it's installed/when it's installed.
