2008 R2 RDWeb "The remote computer cannot be found" error

I'm trying to setup RDWeb on a Windows 2008 R2 server.  This is a temporary setup for one user.  I was trying to connect to the server from outside the network using the IP address, but this is a Microsoft solution and evidently that would just be too easy.  All roles are on a single server.  The local server name is server.domain.local.  When I edit the client's hosts file so that server.domain.local resolves to the network's external IP, everything works, but this will cause problems when the client is on the company network.  When I directly use the external IP address, or edit the client's hosts file so that server.rdweb.com resolves to the network's external IP (because rdweb.com won't interfere when the client is on the work network), I get the error, "The remote computer cannot be found".   How do I resolve this?

you have to have public dns zone (rdweb.com or whatever domain.com) with public host (A) record pointing to public IP address of server
also same zone should be there with internal DNS server and it should pointto internal server IP

then you don't need host file entry
once host file entry is removed, it will work
