Portable Archive Player compatibility with Win10-64

Hi staff.

I downloaded the Portable Archive Player and put it in Win7 (all works ok) and Win10 (doesn´t work)

The SO report a "Fatal Application Exit": RelaunchUsingCreateProcess::CreateProcess failed... " followed for the application path.

The Tech Suport of Microsoft states ther is no problem with the SO and recommends asking if there is a compatible update, if any.

If you have installed it and cannot run it, go to C:\ProgramFiles... and locate .exe of this program. Open it directly from C:\... not using a shortcut. (You might want to run it in compatibility mode)

Otherwise right-click on installer -> Compatibility -> Run Compatibility Troubleshooter.

Find the error ID of this operation in Event Viewer. It might help us.

Also install the app to C:\... not to D:\, E:\ etc.

Make sure you have downloaded the latest version. If yes, try an older version.

I perform all your recommendations and the result is the same: doesn´t work.

The versión number is 4.8.2114.16, dated 30/11/2011, a bit older yes, but I dont find another available.

I will appreciate if you include a link to download the most recent.

Aghhhhh! No.

I downloaded the software from the offered link and it is the same as I have. Also the documentation is the same.

I installed the application and it doesn´t work.

Will you have any other suggestions? I need to solve this problem!!!

Well, in that case I would call the support with a simple question if their software is compatible with Windows 10. If not, you will have to find out another software. If yes, we can continue in this discussion.

I found the same thing in a newer version (5.7.0) in this link: https://www.genetec.com/es/soporte/mantenimiento/centro-de-asistencia-tecnica-de-genetec in the SOPORTE section.

Is a basic application, shows less stuff but works fine. And it run on Win10 with no problem.

I hope this talk was useful to someone else.
