Windows 10 desktop mod to show the full path of the desktop picture.

Ok I currently have my desktop background searching through my whole pictures folder of thousands of pictures and folders.

(found on Reddit)
1- In Windows Explorer, head to the folder that contains all your other picture folders.
2- Do a search for type:image
3- Select all, right-click, set as background.

Now I want to see the path to the picture on the screen.    IE  C:\pictures\folder755\subfolder2\image.jpg

Looking for either a way to accomplish this or a new program which will do the same.

Thank you,

Sean

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Windows 10 Explorer does not show you the path when you first search.

After the search, you can click on the View tab in the Windows Explorer ribbon and select List view. The result will show you the complete path. I tested this feature here.

You can also right click on any picture found and select properties. This is fine for one or two pictures found.

Do you know a custom command to show the desktop background path for BGInfo?  It is not a default option.  I can create custom item but need to know the link to registry settings and such.

John I see a picture as my background on my desktop. I do not know the name of the picture or the location.  I am cycling 47,841 pictures from hundreds of folders.  I would like to know the name of the picture and path.

Doing a bunch more Google search I found this great article.  http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/find-current-wallpaper-file-path-windows-10/

John,

It is my desktop background.  You can't select the picture.  You can right click personalize --> "Choose albums for your slideshow"   ---- Mine is "type:image" which is a generic search of ALL of my pictures.

The above program is amazing -- http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/find-current-wallpaper-file-path-windows-10/

Brings you right to the folder where the picture is located.

Awesome.

Thanks for the link Rob but BGInfo actually gets in the way of the linked program.

Thank you
