Move Windows XP Virtual Machine

Hi Everyone,
I have a client with a Windows XP VM (Microsoft Windows XP Compatibility Utility) running on a Windows 7 Machine. I need to move it to another Windows 7 machine.
I have followed the steps outlined here

Specifically I merged the parent and differential changes into a single file on a flash drive and named it the same as the original parent file. I then took the combined file and placed it on the new computer here: C:\Program Files\Windows XP Mode\ replacing the Windows XP Mode base.vhd file created when I installed the Windows XP Mode VM machine software.

I then started the Windows XP by double clicking the Windows XP icon here: C:\Users\(user name)\Virtual Machines, got an error and immediately the Windows XP icon went missing leaving nothing in the folder.

What did I miss?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Thanks John, combined with your suggestion and the post I noted I was able to get the VM running on the new machine. Here's what I did:
1) Merge the Parent and Differential files as outlined here:. I combined the Merged file on to a flash drive giving it a new name
2) On the New computer, I installed Windows XP Mode
3) Placed the Merged file here: C:\Program Files\Windows XP Mode
4) Started the Windows XP Mode and clicked 'Create virtual machine'
  (First screen)
-I gave it a name (does not need to be consistent with the Merged file)
  -Kept the default location option
  (Next screen)
-Adjusted the RAM to 2048 (16GB RAM on the new machine)
-When prompted, I selected to use an existing VM File and selected the Merged file
5) I went back and started the Windows XP Virtual Machine in Programs
