Recommendation for Barcode Label Software

I have Zebra ZT220 Thermal Transfer Label Printer along with one license TEKLYNX LABEL MATRIX 2015 software.
TEKLYNX LABEL MATRIX 2015 software works well for our needs, but its purchase cost is $350 and requires $150 yearly support fee.
Ideally I would like multiple users to use the software when needed and print labels to ZT220 Label Printer, however I can't install this version to virtual machine.
When I spoke to them, they have like 5 user virtual machine compatible version for $640 per year including tech support calls.

Are there more affordable software out there that I can install once on the terminal server and users can log into the terminal server to run label software and print to network-based  ZT220 Label Printer?

What is nice about TEKLYNX LABEL MATRIX 2015 software is that I can link it to Microsoft Access database table and print certain records that matches the search value or print all records from the 3x5 or 4x6 labels.
Sometimes we just print small amount of labels like 1"x 2". Currently LABEL MATRIX 2015 software meets our needs.

This is a difficult question to answer without knowing more about what you're doing with barcodes.

Since barcodes can be recreated with simple fonts, it may be you don't need specialty software at all.  Since you choose to address your problem with specialty software, it may be there's more going on here than meets the eye.

Can you provide more information on what you're doing - and how - so a good solution can be offered?

multiple smaller labels 1 x 2 printed on 4 by 64 x 6 labels@Paul

Mostly we receive shipping information in Excel file and I copy rows of shipping label information from EXCEL to MS Access. Then I link ACCESS table to the label software and print them on 4 x 6. The label consists of fix ed value (header information) and actual values like Items#, PO#, Ship Date, Ship to addres ... etc.
Recently we printed 1x2 small labels with fixed values like OR1616 with bar code number on 4x6.
That is the extent of the use.

Here is another product you could look at, although I honestly don't know about the terminal server compatibility, but maybe worth a call...  I worked for the company about 20 years ago and they certainly understand barcoding and Zebra printers.

While I can't read the "Lot" barcode, the others are Code 128 and UPC, both of which should be easy enough to reproduce on your own.  I can envision a solution that lets you print either directly from Excel; or from Word, using Excel as a data source.  I still can't be positive such a solution would actually work for you, but it might be worth looking into.  It would certainly be less manual.

Based on the price, I decided to keep current software and purchase their virtual machine version so that multiple users can run the software from one computer.
