How do I reset my forgotten laptop administrator's password for Windows 7 professional without a CD?

I have a laptop with a guest account that is open with no password and an administrative password which i forget and therefore can't install any software and can't connect the laptop to a Wi-Fi. Does any one know how i can recover or reset the administrative password with using any CD or tool. I only have the laptop with me.

You need to create a bootable USB Key with Pogo Stick. Boot with that and change the Admin Password

Thanks John. Do you have any step by step document that can guide me through. I am a novice and please bear with me. How do i create a bootable USB key with Pogo stick? I just downloaded usb140201.zip from her: https://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html.

I have tried this steps: https://www.top-password.com/knowledge/reset-windows-password-without-cd-usb.html

But my laptop shuts down after step 8 and does not restart. i don't get to step 9 and 10. I did this couple of times.

You don't need third party media - a simple Windows DVD or USB boot drive (or even network boot from something like WDS) will do the trick.  Reference the utilman trick in google searches or follow the instructions here:

The issue with my case is that I am not logged in as administrator, but as a guest which has very limited rights. I cannot run the command line as administrator. The guest account cannot install any software, cannot setup wireless connection., etc. Very basic rights. I am trying to reset the administrator password which i lost. When i put the laptop, i go straight to the quest account which has no password. When i choose the Administrator account, i cannot log in as i don't know the password.  Most of the above suggest require me to be in administrator account or need to run cmd as administrator.  I tried, but they don't work for me.

Any workaround with my issue? Thanks.

Try the bootable USB approach which does not require a local login at all.

After step 8, you can manually start your computer. When you reach the login screen, continue to follow step 9.
In order to create a bootable USB with with Pogo stick, download cd140201.zip. Unzip it and burn the ISO to USB using the freeware ISO2Disc.

Check this document. Follow it step by step. You need a windows 7 Professional bootable CD or bootable USB.

Good luck.

the utilman option  also works for Windows 7/8.1 etc:

You'll need to create a Windows  recovery usb:

You do not need any tools or CDs/USBs
Just turn off computer with power switch a few times when Windows loading shows until StartUp repair option is available
Then follow this
