Scanning ID Cards with Windows Fax and Scan

Hello everyone,
This client of mine has ID card scanners which they have been using a 3rd party Citrix app to scan an upload, however now they desire to scan and then copy and paste somewhere else.  I can scan it and get it to work, but the ID appears at the top and then there is a lot of black space on the bottom.  Can someone recommend dimensions or many even a third party scanning program that has less limitation?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What’s the model of the idcard scanner? Usually they offer software that handles the basics.

Its a scanshell 800DXN
That is a good point that you are making.  I will see if they do have a software.

Well I ran into a disappointing road block that I found a bunch of additional software here: http://www.scanshell-store.com/downloads.htm#Software.

I found one called ID Scan, which sounded like it was right up our alley but it requires a product key!!!!!

Quick search found they have software, one is even called IDscan!
http://www.scanshell-store.com/downloads.htm

Even though it's a store site, looks like free downloads for the software.

Haha, same time.

Maybe a call to them to see if a license is supposed to come with the scanners? If you bought a bunch of them, sometimes you can press them into giving it to you for free, or it may just be free anyway.
