I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There is not.

However, if you are concerned who can send to the group, then it is possible to configure delivery management on the group to allow only specific senders.

yes i know that but if within outlook or OWA  the person expands the group to show the members ( which appear in the  To: line) the delivery management rule is bypassed and the email is sent to the individuall email address's/ members in the group.
so rather than send the email to the group, and then to they system sending to the members
a person could bypass the group and send directly to the members
how do i prevent that

Unless you hide the distro from the GAL, the is no way to prevent users from looking and expanding the list.
