SQL Log Shipping without connecting to both servers
Hi all,
is there a documented process to do replication with log shipping where the only thing available to the destination database is the log files? If not I will have to setup an SSIS package to do restores of the log files to the destination database, which seems problematic?
thanks,
john.

The problematic issue, correct me if I'm wrong, is keeping track of which files to restore, and dealing with a possible loss of a log from the source. So if I am processing a log restore every 30 minutes; and for some reason one or more logs are not created or not accessible, I may miss something.

Yes, that is true; but I'm going into a situation where only the log files will be provided.
Log Shipping solution is to perform regular transaction log restores, so what's problematic for you?
