asked on

vCenter 6.0 and vCenter 6.5 on the same network?

We are looking to test vSphere 6.5 for evaluating some of the new features.  We are currently running 6.0 but do not want to upgrade the entire test bed.

The configuration as it stands now is

ESXi 6.0 installed on four Super Micro Servers and three Dell Servers
ESXi1-ESXi3 (dell)
ESXi4-ESXi7 (sm)
NetApp SAN is providing the storage to all ESXi Servers.
EqualLogc SAN is providing the storage to the Dell Servers.
Nexus 48 Port 10g Switch.

Infrastructure is on 192.169.1.0/24.  This includes:

vCenter Server
ESXi Servers 1-7
Domain Controller
Horizon View Connection
Nexus Switch
Pfsense router

We will move the Dell r610 to vSphere ESXi 6.5 and have a new cluster.

The idea is to connect to use a zero client on 192.169.1.0/24 and  connect to a Windows VM and from there, launch a Web Browser to connect to the 6.5 vCenter.

Is this doable?

Can you use one DC and have a vCenter 6.0 and vCenter 6.5 on the same network?
