SCCM software deploy failures

I am pretty new to using SCCM, in this current account I am working on, they  use it to deploy software and 80% of the time the Software fails to install. I do not see any errors, or know where to look for error log files. Any assistance would be appreciated.

You can check reason of failure on server side and client side as well.

Server Side
Check Deployment status in Configmgr Console - Monitoring Workspace - Deployments
Under deployments you can see the status of any deployment whether it is failed/successfull/In progress etc

Client Side - refer logs files to know the reason of failure
For Application Deployment - Appenforce.log
For Package Deployment - Execmgr.log

 It's all about the log files with CM. The path to the client logs is normally c:\windows\ccm\logs by the way.
Use CMTrace to read them especially if you are a beginner.

Find that at \\siteserver\SMS_<sitecode>\tools.

With the console check out the monitoring node and look at Deployments for a high-level view - mainly numbers of fails. For troubleshooting you have to use the logs. There are two other log files for Applications: AppDiscover and AppEvaluation which might give better clues - the main one is appenforce.log as  Panjak already said.
