I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Keith, there's not enough information to tell from the information above.  The place to look is in the ddclient log in /var, which logs all successes and failures.

If your system is not logging to /var/log/ddclient or substantially similar file, then (a) look in /var/log/syslog or (b) configure your logger (either syslog or rsyslog) to route messages containing "ddclient" to /var/log/ddclient  Configuring the logger is a much better solution as you can then route log messages from any program to specific files.

An expression based filter for rsyslog is straightforward and looks like this:
if $msg contains 'ddclient' /var/log/ddclient
