I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Press the Windows key and R simultaneously, and in the prompt box enter devmgmt.msc.  Alternatively, enter devmgmt.msc in the search box.  Select Run as Administrator.

In the Device Manager window, click under Display Adapters to see what is installed in your system.

if it shows Intel or AMD/ATI,  then again, details are provided within their applications to show you more details.

Another way to do this would be to run dxdiag from a command prompt (Windows).

Various utilities exist such as SiSoft Sandra which will provide a more comprehensive report of your laptops hardware such as CPU, chipset, memory module configuration, storage configuration etc.
