Thanks

Would copying the c:\users directory suffice? Or you could save yourself some time if you can identify exactly what you want (desktop? favourites? My documents?)

Thanks . Is there a free software
Wbadmin and robocopy are both available on the systems.
What are you looking for, how much data is in the profiles that you want to backup.
Your question includes few details on the need and .....
Is this a personal or multi system/multiuser type of situation?

You could try using ForensIT User Migration Wizard:https://www.forensit.com/d omain-migr ation.html
Should have been more clear. With my suggestion above, you can do the copies yourself using regular copy commands. No extra software needed.
Is software absolutely required? No. Would it help given that you're probably also going to want to get all of the settings into the newer profile? Yes.
