Outlook 2016 Instant Searches Incomplete: Index Rebuild - "Allow this file to have contents indexed in addition to file"

Hi,

Trying to get all messages to be found in Outlook 2016's instant search.

In the attributes of the PST files there is a selection: "Allow this file to have contents indexed in addition to file"

Each time i check it, when I reboot I find it unchecked again.

I'm rebuilding the Index file now - root and branch - deleted the Windows.edb so I can be sue it is a total rebuild.

Does this "Allow this file to have contents indexed in addition to file" checkbox need to be checked to let the PST files contents be added to the Index?

I read this online:

As far as I know, if you are searching using Outlook instant search, you don't need to have the "Allow this file to have contents indexed in addition to file" option enabled.

Is this true?

Thanks,

OT

PST and OST files are indexed differently - thru a different interface, not the common file indexing. File attributes do not have any bearing for that.
