Outlook 2016 unable to configure office365 email - timeout
This is the second time i come across this issue. Outlook 2016 working perfectly fine on Office365 email account. Then from one day to the next without any changes being done on the laptop (excludes windows update) i get connectivity issues.
-I have tried delete profile an create a new profile, the new account wont find the autodicover settings and times out.
-repaired office,
-uninstalled and reinstalled office,
-removed office and deleted all profile data and folders,
-installed office 2013 with the same results
-run test email configuration, result: autoconfiguration was unable to determine your settings
-i did notice on Office 2016 trying the online repair i get an error not connected to the internet
-disabled firewalls
-removed internet security apps.
-create new windows profile

i have no problem setting up the email account on another PC or even on the same PC using Windows 10 mail client

can you please attach the screenshot of the error while configuring the account?
Check your domain DNS records and make sure they are correct for O365, especially:
CNAME (Alias) for
CNAME (Alias) for
HOSTNAME ADDRESS TTL

Unfortunately i only have limited access to the laptop. please keep in mind i have no problem setting up the email account in windows 10 mail on the same laptop or any other outlook on any other PC. That tells me me the issue is with the laptop not DNS or Office365.

Can you check srv record on your domain name ?
