Cannot Edit Virtual Machine Settings

I'm using vSphere client version 6.0.0 and the ESXi version is 6.5.0. I created my first guest in this but I cannot edit the virtual machine settings. It comes with error You cannot use the vSphere Client to edit the settings of virtual machines of version 12 or higher. Use the vSphere Web Client to edit the settings of this virtual machine.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This is by design you cannot edit the virtual machine if that of higher version than 8 via vSphere thick client.

you would require to use web client only.

Thanks for that. Now I get a new error message using my browsers Chrome and Mozilla.

Unfortunately, we hit an error that we weren't expecting.
The client may continue working, but at this point, we recommend refreshing your browser and submitting a bug report.
