John knows more about windows 10 than I do, but I have yet to meet an OS that I trust completely. I install hitmanpro.alert on my win 10 machines.
I would recommend MacAfee since they got bought out by Intel. Only around $15 a year for all the devices in your home.

Every device should be protected somehow. So some kind of protection is necessary.
If you are browsing a lot of potentially dangerous pages, you should run Malwarebytes from time to time.
