Not able to login to Windows XP

Hello,

I have a very old XP VM which lost AD authentication and noone can login.  We also do not know the local administrator account passsword.

What is the best way to recover?

use a bootable password reset tool, for example trinity rescue kit. Download the ISO, make sure the VM starts the ISO (i.e. don't boot into XP). Do a local admin password reset. You can now locally log into that XP VM.
