Laser Printing-Face Side Up Output

Hello:

I am wondering if anyone knows of a high page per minute laser printer that can produce the printing output face side up. I want to test scanning a unique barcode each time a page prints but all the printers I see output face down. Thanks.

Fallback suggestion:  Get a duplexer and print the back "blank".

Hi, Paul:

I have done that but the process of duplexing slows everything down. My hope was to not having to process the page twice. Thanks!

The HP9000 series with a stacker attached will output face up.

The Tektronix Phaser 740 has a driver that can be configured to output face up (Output order).
Perfect! Thanks, Paul.
@Paul

Those are rather old printers, especially the Phaser 740, which dates back to the '80s. A more modern alternative is the Laserjet P2030 series. It has a face-up output tray as standard, instead of as an additional option. It should still be available second-hand, at a much lower price than the 9000 series.

A current low-cost printer that has a face-up output tray is the Brother HL-L5100DN. If you go through the Brother range of mono printers (not MFPs) you should find some others as well. The current Xerox office copiers also tend to have a face-up output facility, but these are expensive machines.
"Those are rather old printers..."
Duly noted.
