Wifi adapter disappear
Hi Wifi adapter disappear in Network Connection in Win8. this might be virus issue. Checking Device manager, I also cannot see it. System restore cannot get it back to normal. Anyone can give some suggestion? Thank you

I doubt this is virus issue. is it possible the wifi component is broken? so that I cannot see it at all in all pc. I plug in a usb-wifi and then it work well. the issue is where the original is? the hardware is broken? if virus issue, hardware should be there.

then - i suggest he posts the system model, and we point him to the drivers, so he can update it
he can also test if it works ok when booted from a live cd, - Linux one maybe the easiest

Yes. I asked earlier that you try to install the driver. If the driver will not install, and you are sure you do not have an issue with viruses, and now you said the USB Wi-Fi works, then it is likely the card has gone defective.

testing it from a live cd = free of cost

after i tried many times to restart pc, i found the wifi adapter disappear and appear so irregularly. but this tells me the wifi and driver sometimes can work and existing there. then after i plug anther wifi usb adapter, it always works well. but this adapter size is a little big. after i search in ebay, i can buy mini one, which costs only $4. i ordered it already and waiting for the try.
Then i check you guys comment. I found Thomas has the same experience as me. so i suggestion you order mini one in case you can use it immediately if it happen. Thank you guys comments

When done, shut down (power off), start up and check Device Manager. Is there a Wi-Fi adapter?
You can also try downloading the correct driver for your machine and installing that.
