Exchange 2016 contacts missing email

Hello,

We have an Exchange 2016 system on CU7 that is having an odd issue.  When we create a mail contact, the email address does not fill in (see image 1).  You can see the field is filled in on the contact (image 2).  I am guessing this has something to do with the arbitration mailboxes but I think they are all good (image 3).

For these 'problem' contacts, we are unable to forward email to them due to this. Not sure where to look at this point - any ideas?

Thanks!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

Could you check if the contact is created in Active Directory users and computers?

Do you see the  contact?

Cheers
Viktor

Good thought - they are being created in AD and the Email property is blank.

You can check if properties from ADSI edit if those properties are stamped
Problems using Powershell and Active Directory?

Managing Active Directory does not always have to be complicated.  If you are spending more time trying instead of doing, then it's time to look at something else. For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why

ADSIEdit shows ProxyAddress as <notset> and TargetAddress as being set to the email address (gggg@yahoo.com in my test contact).

Hi,

If you edit the property email property in AD.

Check after you are able to forward email.
