Insprion 17R Windows 10 touch pad freezes and locks

Dell Inspiron 17R.  Touchpad freezes and then stops after boot up.  You can restart and it will work for a few minutes and lock up again.

Dell Recommended updating Bios which I have done.
Reinstalling the touchpad which I have done.

Anyone else have any recommendations.

In addition to the above, also update Chipset and Video drivers.

check for overheating caused by blocked ventilation ports, fan failure, dirty fan
First thing to do, is try to eliminate a software cause. Simply boot a windows setup usb stick and let it rest for half an hour or so and see if the touchpad still works.
