I currently have 2 Hyper-V hosts and the vswitch was just set up from the manager, and has been working ok for a while now. I would like to make it a converged switch and am wondering if i make the changes with PowerShell to the existing working vswitch, how will that affect my current network? Will it briefly disconnect? will the host need to be rebooted? or they Hyper-V service restarted?<br />

I have found the information on how to set this up new, but there does not seem to be any information about updated and existing vswitch. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.<br />

Windows PowerShell is a task automation and configuration management framework from Microsoft, consisting of a command-line shell and associated scripting language built on the .NET Framework. PowerShell provides full access to the Component Object Model (COM) and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), enabling administrators to perform administrative tasks on both local and remote Windows systems as well as WS-Management and Common Information Model (CIM) enabling management of remote Linux systems and network devices.

Powershell

Hyper-V is a native hypervisor; it can create virtual machines on x86-64 systems and supersedes Windows Virtual PC as the hardware virtualization component of the client editions of Windows NT. A server computer running Hyper-V can be configured to expose individual virtual machines to one or more networks. Hyper-V Server supports remote access via Remote Desktop Connection. Administration and configuration of the host OS and the guest virtual machines is generally done over the network.
