Are you wanting to transfer these files to the host machine or to a virtual server or workstation that is running on the host machine?

Is the VM on the network?
If so create a share or map a drive to the vm from host that has the file.

If its a windows vm one can use MS RDP once setup or vsphere client to console into the vm.

or create an ISO, and transfer the files and folders to the VM by mounting a CDROM.
