Grab video and Audio from my PC

Hi to all of you,
I'm going to attend an online training (Go to meeting) of 4hours a day and I need to record both video and audio on my PC for a later review.
I have a windows 10 I3 core 8GB ram and the screen resolution is 1280X1024
Can you please reccomend me an opensource software for this activity? files should be also compressed by a codec.

Thank you
Carlo

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Very good free tool available in windows 10 itself. just Press Windows Key + G -> Click on Yes it's game then start recoding.
remember to enable also mic, you will see on menu.

video is in mp4 format and will be saved in video folder under documents folder of user's profile.

OBS - It's open source, it doesn't load your system much and is able to record all you need and easy to set everything  up. If you can, go for it.
If you would need any assistance, just ask.

I believe you can do it from VLC Media player

Media -> Stream -> Capture Device -> Capture Mode = Desktop -> Stream

Then selecting destination File = test.mp4, leaving Profile = Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4) intact, ans setting FPS=24.

Or alternatively you can use an app called ShareX

Download and install ShareX.
Run it and click Capture->Screen Recording...
It asks you if you want to automatically download ffmpeg.exe, say yes.
Next go to Task Settings->Capture->Screen recorder->Options
Change the video source to screen-capture-recorder (it's a bit fast in my experience), and the audio source to your microphone (or whatever).
Use Capture->Screen Recording again.
It will now even let you select the area of the screen to record!

Kind Regards

Justin

Windows 10 is limited with multimedia support as it runs as a service and wants the users to buy the tools as apps.
Windows 10 does have a desktop screen capture inbuilt the Game Bar desktop capture , as mentioned, I tried it but didn't like it.

What worked flawlessly for screen capture was DVDSoft screen capture still use it in windows 7, it has a small footprint /output size in the video, and you can select record desktop or region.
This what sets it apart from Frapps for example, recording desktop can produce raw avi and they are huge in size. Something like 1 gig every 3 secs. The reason is the video is recorded on the fly with no processing.
But DVD soft resolves that
In order to record " what you hear " no mic,  you'll need to enable the stereomix
R/click the speaker icon on the taskbar open the recording tab and rightclick an empty space and enable hidden items then make stereomix default.

enable stereomixTo try it :
Download the free Studio and in that is 9 various tools. It is free but I made a donation of 7 dollars which gives the premium membership for assistance I guess.

The screen capture aspect captures a small sized mp4 and you choose  from desktop or region.
