Everything to VGA converter for board room?

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has seen a device that can convert most of the current display outputs to VGA, for a VGA projector?  IE a kind of everything to VGA device that you could set on a board room table and people can connect whatever display output they have into it and it would connect up via VGA into the projector.  Is there such a novel thing?

Thanks

I don't think you can find such a convertor.

The most common Video out ports for laptops are USB Type C, DisplayPort, MiniDP, HDMI and VGA.

Probably easier to buy a projector with an HDMI port, attach an HDMI auto-selecting hub to it, and then hang a few converters on the hub such as DisplayPort and VGA.  Tell the users with anything else to provide their own whatever-to-HDMI converters.

It's a hard line to take, but HDMI is here and well established; and VGA was well on the way out five years ago.  Many HDMI modes cannot be replicated on VGA projectors and it's less than reasonable to expect people with HDMI equipment to have to adapt their resolution and scan rates to an obsolete standard.

Thanks gentlemen for your feedback.  I have put an order through for a bunch of common adapter dongles.  Dark side of capitalism I suppose.  Could be a novel idea for a Kickstarter project :-P
