Amazon licence plate ASN

Amazon license plate help with integration.

We have an EDI system here that we have integrated with. Amazon sent an email to say that we need to integrate with Amazon License plate.

We though this was just the ASN for doing the shipments. We have contacted amazon but the keep sending us the amazon license plate document which is a manual process. The issue is we are a large company and we want to be able to automate. Has anyone had experience with this and is it possible to use web servicesthat Amazon supply? We have fount it difficult getting any information from amazon regarding this. We have requested calls but no luck.

Looking for someone that has been through this before?

BEst Regards,

Ross

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Last I knew, Amazon does not any web services or API for automating EDI.  There are a bunch of 3rd party vendors that have built EDI systems that assist with automating EDI tasks.  Most of the larger vendors already have built-out Amazon specific solutions.

I believe the Amazon License Plate is a UCC-128 label, no?  Can you post a picture of the end result from the "manual" document?

These are the two files we received when we try and get information from amazon. Our EDI provider does not even know.
We ask if we send ASN information is this ok or do we need to do anything else? it looks like we need to implement a lot more.

The label in the diagram (in the PDF) looks like the UCC-128 label we use for our shipments to Amazon.  What that doc is stating is that you need a label, and then you need to have certain info in your ASN.

What EDI vendor do you use?  You might try asking them about UCC-128 labels for Amazon.  They should have a spec for the Amazon label requirements and be able to implement the mapping for the labels and additional info required on the ASN.

The power point file shows you how to do it via Vendor Central (which would be a manual process).  It also shows you where to get the EDI mapping files in Vendor Central ( Amazon EDI Specification Package English) .  I'd recommend that you give those files to your EDI vendor because they are the technical mappings they need for the ASN and UCC label.

If your vendor can't understand the specifications in the document, you may want to consider another vendor.

We used to use B2B but they were beyond horrible.  We're now with True Commerce.  While there are still times I want to stab myself in the eye when working with them, it's SO much better than B2B.
