Restoring Windows after reboot,  like my beloved Mac does...

I shut down my Mac, and on restart, everything it the way I left it. Can't Windows 10 do the same thing?

What a pain!

I need to shut my PC each night, otherwise would consider leaving it running.

Thanks

Windows 10 Version beyond 1709 is making progress on this front.

I do not want everything that was running to stay running so I have to close everything first.

I suspend overnight so morning starts up quicker.

Different - neither is better or worse than the other - just different.

Enable Hibernation and hibernate it.  Exactly what you ask for.

I should have stated that suspend does the same thing.

Sure. But sleep would defeat some device security (that is, if encryption with preboot authentication is being used).

I forgot to ask, how do I find Sign-in options?

Setings -> Accounts -> Sign-in options

Please note: that setting (use my sign-in...) is potentially dangerous setting, since it logs you on (if you turn on the machine and, while booting, leave it unattended for getting a coffee).
